But I cannot accept the offer because I prefer not to be hosted or treated differently than other reviewers so I can give an honest review.

If you will post a comment with the name of your restaurant, I will gladly put it on my list of restaurants to try. And hopefully I will go there soon.

Thanks.anonymouseaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983816483601480054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19953700.post-65798750247387229612008-05-01T21:42:00.000-05:002008-05-01T21:42:00.000-05:00hey anonymouseater,great reviews!i own a vietnames...hey anonymouseater,

great reviews!
i own a vietnamese restaurant and would like to invite/host you and your family to review my restaurant. send me an email tranweaver@gmail.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19953700.post-48842162869842589772008-05-01T18:15:00.000-05:002008-05-01T18:15:00.000-05:00Hi Food in Houston,My name is Shannon and I'm the ...Hi Food in Houston,

My name is Shannon and I'm the editorial assistant at Foodbuzz.com. As in, really, really bad.

One of the best dishes at Vietopia are the Tiger Spring Rolls - fried shrimp, avocado and usual spring roll trimmings. Never seen anything like it on a Vietnamese menu, but who cares?

The soft shell crab is also good. Not as good as the one served at Sinh Sinh, but its a decent option if you are taking a bunch of gringos to lunch for a meeting. I've had been to many "authentic" Vietnamese restaurants that can't pull this dish off, so street cred is often an irrelevant factor.

BTW, if memory serves me right Vietopia is owned by the same people that opened the original Jasmine on Bellaire and the beltway. The fusion inspired mess on the menu is intentional, it just doesn't work most of the time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
